I do not i...Thank you for writing this blog entry!

I do not inow if you are still actively pursuing this blog but my family too wasat St. Barnabas. In fact, through the miracle of DNA testing we discovered each other. My mother was orphaned in Vermont due to anti miscegenation (one black parent and one white) sentiments. Her parents were sent to prison and mom and her brother would never see them again.

My new “aunt” was born under the same conditions (she is actually my mother’s first cousin), as she is the child of one black parent (my grandfather’s sister) and one white (who remains unknown.

We just discovered last night that she was at St. Barnabas before being adopted (she had no idea that she was adopted until after her adoptive parents had passed away and she found the papers tucked away in their things).

She was there at St. Barnabas somewhere between 1942-44 which was right before the new building went up.

I am wondering if there are records that they might still have somewhere in the city which may have some identifying information. Are you aware if there are??

So happy that your uncle picked you up!

Jerome Lafayette Narramore- "Black With A Twist"https://www.blogger.com/profile/04397710281728808853noreply@blogger.com
