I'll post more photos later. Notice the phone in my left hand. I dialed my sister in Tampa, FL, and she heard my name being called as I got my diploma. She put her phone on speakerphone so Craig could hear it too. She cheered loudly which I heard softly through the phone, but no one else heard. Really neat. To bad I didn't have a conference line. ha ha

Friends, Floyd and Tania, stayed the weekend. John brought grandkids. I totally enjoyed the weekend. Billy and Philip called to congratulate me. The family I stayed with when I took the LPN course almost 40 years ago sent a beautiful, thoughtful, card. I basked and relaxed in the joy of a new personal birthday!

More photos later. I have to work a few hours today, and I slept in too long this morning.

We stayed home and stayed safe. (Linda Meikle photo) Hubby keeps busy shoveling out our sidewalk and car. The accident happened at the exit where we go to eat at Cracker Barrel on I-71. Whew!

Hubby and I are enjoying watching this storm - Thankful we don't have to be out in it!

My little girl and her cat are completely sheltered from the storm now by frozen grass that has fallen over their face. The shovel is wondering if we are ever going to remove this snow from the doorway!

Snowflake, UFO, or Rabbit?

I just love this picture taken at 1:15 p.m. Feb. 5, 2010, as I was looking out our front door. You can imagine several things happening here. There's always the idea of a giant-sized snowflake that just happened to drift in front of the camera lens as I took the quick shot.

Or, I thought it looked like a big rabbit jumping from the building in the background.

Winter Storm February 5, 2010

Soon my little girl and her kitten will be covered with a soft blanket of snow.

The snow began about two hours ago and already I have some beautiful photos of its progress in Columbus, Ohio. Return to this site for additional pictures throughout the day.

Birthdays and Winter Storms

Don't you just love the innocence of children? This is our grandson's 9th birthday party. The little girl on the right is our other granddaughter, Victoria. I electronically removed a baby bottle that was in the lower corner, a dish towel lying on the table, and a person sitting on the chair using Photo Shop, but I'm not very good at it. It's fun to try, though.

I had a great story all written with several photos of this and our trip to South Carolina, but adding the photos to blogger messed up the entire page, so I had to delete it! I'll rewrite one tomorrow as I watch for the expected winter storm.

I'm actually looking forward to the snow. I'll keep cozy warm with the small electric heater by my computer, and enjoy whatever Old Man Winter throws at us as I watch the activities outside the window beside me.
